The synchronised arrival of both groups at Pam's Cafe provided a 'rush' on the local bacon co-operative before we embraced the cold and walked the course with one eye on the features and the other on the icy patches of concrete footpath.
Croydon took the lead with an early swim on the first descent but come lunchtime everyone had settled in to a relaxed but cautious approach mindful of the extreme consequences of an ice-cream head. Our sister club fully revived by the al fresco lunch stop dominated the afternoons swims by pulling one back on the first run and grabbing a last gasp winner at the end of 90 minutes.

A final scoreline of Good Fairies 1 Ugly Sisters 2 showing that you can take an experienced paddler to water but you can't make him sink; despite his very best efforts to touch bottom.
