French Polish

Third time lucky visiting the Hautes Alpes over the last 5 years, finally catching some cracking runs at cracking levels.

2,000 miles on the road, 10 sections of river bagged over 7 days of continuous paddling  class 3 to 4+. French Polishing

Following on from the previous week's heavy evening rains, a dryer, warmer front moved in and our daytime temperatures settled to 35- 39 degrees, melting the remaining snow and giving consistent river levels, even tan lines and a most pleasing camping experience. Late afternoon Al fresco lunch always popular, especially as the locals thought we were 'taking' afternoon tea!

Our evening aperitif ... 'on the rocks.'

Rivers paddled:

Durance, Upper Ubaye, Upper Guisane, Lower Guisane, Ubaye Racecourse, Middle Guil,
Chateau Queyras Gorge, Upper Guil,  Gyronde.
